Maison de la Pomme

This elegant home is inspired by older estate homes of the French Eclectic style.  To satisfy the homeowners’ desire for an heirloom home with “good bones” that would last for generations, insulated concrete forms (ICFs) were employed for the building envelope.  ICFs provide a quiet home with thick exterior walls and were also employed with the steam shower for their water vapor resistant properties and in the wine cellar for excellent temperature control.  The home theater also benefited from ICFs due to their ability to limit sound transfer to other areas of the home.
